Our Story
Rockingham Marina was first established in 1952, with the formation of Boone Lake in East Tennessee. What began as a small boat dock in the deepest area of Boone Lake has since evolved into the premier marina in East Tennessee, with roughly 400 slips!
The marina began to grow and change for the better under new management back in 2006. In 2011, the owners of Rockingham Marina decided it was time to choose the best boat lines to represent the region’s best marina. That’s when the first Rockingham Marine dealership was launched in Johnson City, TN. The business immediately set itself apart by building friendly, familial relationships with all its customers, and offering a relaxed retail atmosphere.
Over the last 70 years, that little boat dock on Boone Lake has grown to national recognition! Rockingham Marine has recently been recognized as a Top 30 Dealer with our lead fiberglass sport boat line, and a Top 5 Dealer with our performance pontoon line.

About Rockingham Marine
Rockingham Marina was first established in 1952, when Boone Lake in East Tennessee was created. It began as a humble boat dock located at the lake's deepest point, and developed into the distinguished marina it is today with roughly 400 slips! In 2006, new management led to various improvements that contributed to its success, and in 2011 the owners opened the first Rockingham Marine dealership in Johnson City.
As recognition of our services grew, we decided to expand into other states such as Texas. This allowed Rockingham Marine to be known nationally as a Top 30 Dealer with fiberglass sport boats, and a Top 5 Dealer with performance pontoons.
Throughout the 70 years of its existence, Rockingham Marine has remained true to its core values as an independent family business, prioritizing people over products and making boating accessible and enjoyable for everyone.
